Arran offers a wide range of outdoor activities for all the family.

Whether you're interested in rambling, climbing, pony trekking, fishing or something a little more extreme, there's something to suit everyone's taste.

General Activities

Climbing
The granite peaks of Arran rise proudly over the Firth of Clyde, only a few hours from Scotland's largest conurbation.

Cycling
Arran is full of opportunities for safe and enjoyable cycling both on and off the roads. An "all year round" sport, it allows you to journey through some of the island's finest scenery at your own pace. Mountain roads, rocky coastlines, forests and open moorland combine to ensure the views are always enticing.

Golfing
Arran is renowned for its golf courses such as Whiting Bay Golf Course as well as six other excellent courses. An Arran Golf Pass is available from Isobel.
There is a golf range at the Balmichael centre near Shiskine

Hillwalking
Arran is a very scenic, small, mountainous island just off the West Coast. It is relatively near to Glasgow and there is plenty of climbing for the the enthusiast or the serious Winter Climber. There is also plenty to do for hill walkers and mountaineers.

Sailing
Sailing and water sports are well catered for along our coastline with harbours, moorings and excellent facilities available for the cruising sailor Tuition and charter opportunities abound. Seafarers can also enjoy excellent sailing out of Whiting Bay, Brodick, Lamlash and Lochranza on the Isle of Arran.

Walking
If you are here seeking peace and solitude there are many miles of footpaths, woodland and forest trails and mountain peaks to explore. Walking in Arran provides the ideal combination of fresh air, dramatic views and the opportunity to catch glimpses of our abundant flora and fauna.
